Rwanda To Hold A Cyber

Following continued cyber-attacks that have been rampant against East African companies’ web based information; Cyber Security Africa in partnership with Industry stakeholders is to hold a Banking and Cyber Security workshop in March 23rd, 2012 at the Serena Hotel – Kigali Rwanda

This comes at a time when over 100 Kenyan websites were hacked by an Indonesian student not to mention another team of Hackers dubbed Rwandan Hackers who have consistently unofficially exposed several companies’ private web based data.

According to Cyber Security Africa- a UK based company, the one day workshop is designed to highlight the key IT security threats, fraud, risk and regulatory issues affecting  financial institutions, Government agencies, public and private organizations in their daily operations.

Cyber Security Africa Manager Sammy Kioko says that “The banking and cyber seminar will gather pivotal stakeholders from governments, law coercion agencies, financial institutions and world’s top ICT experts to assist in finding durable solutions to cyber-crime.”

Targeted participants include bank managers, correspondence personnel, information record managers, IT confidence managers and information confidence process developers.

Participants are expected to learn the following;

  • Develop and implement a bullet-proof security strategy to maintain consumer trust and promote service usage
  • Identify the technical, device, network and hardware vulnerabilities that could compromise service security
  • Understand the impact of regulatory frameworks on the mobile financial services market
  • Manage the business risks associated with ATMs, Cards and mobile financial transaction processing
