Part of the government of Rwanda’s vision 2020 is to make the land of a thousand hills, an ICT hub, along the same lines creation of a knowledge based economy the reason projects like NetHope academy’s are worth telling their story.

NetHope academy is an organization bridging the gap between unemployed educated youth and the market driven Information Technology needs and opportunities.

According to NetHope Rwanda’s Project Manager Kevine Bajeneza, “NetHope Academy delivers 21st century training and IT skills that are market-relevant, practical and transferable.”

“Provides internships and mentoring support for college-age youth to effectively transition from school to work, and succeed in the workplace” adds Bajeneza.

Yan Kwizera a NetHope Academy product who is now working at Rwanda Information and Technology Association says that “NetHope offers more hands on experience that most of both University and College graduates will not have acquired before. We were given IT professional courses like Microsoft Technology Associate and Microsoft Certified Technology specialist together with Cisco courses.”

“Each time we learn a given subject, we do several practices about it to become acquainted.” Adds Kwizera

NetHope academy recruits 40 fresh graduates in any ICT related field and offers to them a 6 months training coupled with facilitations and placements in different organizations for internship programs. Every after two months a new team of 40 graduates is to be recruited such that in a year’s period, over 150 graduates will have acquired the skills.
