Uwumukiza Savio, a 20 year old senior six student is the winner of the first saloon car in the ongoing MTN Sharama promotion. Savio was awarded the car yesterday at the MTN centre in Nyamirambo.

Uwumukiza’s mother Utamuriza Theophila, who witnessed her son receive the car admitted that, her son’s life is set to change for the better. “Uwumukiza is the oldest of my two sons and he has indeed been of great luck in our family; with this car that he has won, our standards of living are going to improve significantly,” said the winner’s mother.

For Uwumukiza, the car is a big surprise that came to him at the right time. “I am going to use this car as a money making tool to ensure that my family enjoys the achievement. I am so contented beyond words,” a happy Uwumukiza said.

Earlier, Uwumukiza had won a laptop, a prize that kept his spirit to continue competing for the car. “I could wake up in the night sometimes after dreaming of the car and pray to God to bless me and make me the winner. God has really answered my prayers,” said the 20 year old.

Yvone Makolo, MTN’s Marketing Manager noted that the Sharama promotion sought to hype the telecom market. “The main purpose for this promo is to excite the market and also give back to our customers who have been loyal to us thus far,” explained Yvone.

In the same event, other MTN subscribers walked home with other prizes among them phones, computers, bicycles and motorcycles. Among these winners was another young pupil, Uwase Safina, who bagged a laptop. The 12 years old primary six girl said that she will use the computer in her studies to help her advance in ICT.”

“The promotion is still on and we call for all MTN customers to participate and win many fabulous prizes that we have put up for grabs,” Makolo noted.

To participate in the promotion, one needs to send a message with the word MTN to 155 or call the same number and each call or message costs Rwf35. More exciting, one gets a free message on each message they send.
