Rwanda’s leading telecommunication company, MTN Rwanda has launched its multi-channel global brand campaign, titled “welcome to the new world”. The aim is to improve their services by availing digital products to their clients.
The new-look MTN play portal will be available across multiple operating systems and mobile handsets in MTN markets across Africa and Middle East. More interestingly, Rwandan developers for computer and smartphone applications will be given a platform by MTN to exercise their talent. Approved applications will be posted on MTN’s app store.
The campaign articulates MTN’s belief that emerging markets are on a cusp of a brand that matches with the new world, showing also bold views on the potentials in the latest technologies.
Khaled Mikkawi the CEO MTN Rwanda, pointed out that the company has grown over the years from being a generic telecommunication company known for basic telephony to a lifestyle enabling, such as one-stop solutions shop that supports consumers through every moment and every stage of their life. Therefore the campaign needed to illustrate this growth and transition.
“What was important for us is that the adverts show what we see, and that is beautiful, sophisticated vibrant Africa and the innovation, creativity and excitement percolating our markets,” he said adding. “This is what we want the entire international community to see as we welcome them to the new world. But it was equally important for us to portray all of that in a specific way.”
Details of the campaign launched in selected areas, will be highlighted through 17 television commercials filmed across all MTN’s 22 markets in Africa and in the Middle East. The publicity also includes a combination of market specific print, online, outdoor and mobile creative executions.
